We won big at last week’s Terptown Throwdown Home Grown Cannabis Awards! Out of dozens of competitors and entries, we added five new awards to the trophy case for CBD Flower, THC Edibles, and CBD Extracts — not too bad for our first time at this competition!
We took home:
- 1st place in CBD Extracts for Black Cherry OG x Tangie Batter
- 2nd place in CBD Extracts for Ice Cream Man CBD Sauce
- 3rd place in CBD Extracts for Purple Stardawg Sunset Sauce
- 3rd place in CBD Flower for Sour Tsunami
- 2nd place in THC Edibles for our Chipotle Ranch Spice Mix
With these awards, we hit some huge milestones! Sour Tsunami’s 3rd place win in the CBD Flower category officially makes it an award-winning flower. Sour Tsunami is the strain behind many of our award-winning CBD extracts, but this is the first time it’s taken home a prize on its own for flower excellence.
Our 2nd place victory for the Chipotle Ranch Spice Mix in the THC Edibles category is the first win for our kitchen! An infused product unlike any other, the dip blends NEA’s quality cannabis distillate with chipotle peppers, real buttermilk, and a variety of southwestern spices that create a delicious, classic southern snack when mixed with sour cream.
“Winning this award means so much to all of our kitchen team members who assisted in creating this product,” say members of our kitchen leadership and development team. “The inspiration behind the dip was born from wanting to find a savory edible, unlike our normal confectionery products, and because of our team’s southern and western roots. We are so proud to bring home a trophy for Northeast Alternatives.”
The clean sweep in the CBD Extracts category is the first win of its kind for us! This is our second award for our Ice Cream Man CBD Sugar, the extract that took home 1st place at the 2020 Harvest Cup, while our other two extracts are first-time entries.
“Northeast Alternatives plans to change the way people view CBD extracts,” said Noel Barry, Director of Extractions. “We want to unlock the true medicinal potential of CBD through proprietary blends of pure cannabinoids and naturally extracted cannabis terpenes.”
These wins bring NEA’s total to 20 awards for cannabis flower, edibles, concentrates, tinctures, and overall excellence as a dispensary. In total, NEA’s founders have won more than 30 awards during their careers!
